Sandblast-effect glass decoration film now PVC-free

Specialist self-adhesive media manufacturer Aslan has added a new PVC-free vinyl to its portfolio of products specifically developed for glass decoration.

Aslan E150 eco-friendly film uses ecological acrylic pressure adhesive and is mainly prepared for long term use on indoor glass surfaces. Accordingly, says the German company, it’s particularly relevant that there is no outgassing of plasticisers or solvents.

“It is important for us to have eco-friendly versions available among our glass decoration films to offer to our customers,” says Aslan sales director Hubertus von Henninges. “We believe the looks of the vinyl should not be compromised in order to be environmentally acceptable.”

This conviction is mirrored in the design of Aslan E150. Metal pigments give it a sandblasted look so the film brings a high-quality effect to every glass surface and to interior decoration, says Aslan. The rigidity of the film also allows a particularly easy application. The vinyl is suitable for wet and dry application and is free of shrinkage.

“Years ago already we decided to coat our films with water-based adhesives so we solved the problem of solvent outgassing,” says von Henninges. “We see an increased demand for eco-friendly products in the market which we want to meet wherever a sensible and high quality solution is possible.”
