Media manufacturer Mondi has been named best performer in the Basic Materials Sector of the Forest Footprint Disclosure Project (FFD).
The FFD Project is a new initiative backed by 34 financial institutions with US$3.5 trillion in collective assets under management. It was created to help investors identify how an organisation’s activities and supply chains impact deforestation and link this forest footprint to their value.

As part of its support for a major photography competition, Epson has used its printers, media and ink to produce the finalists’ work at an exhibition in London this winter.
The winner of this year’s Landscape Photographer of the Year was selected from thousands of entries received. All the finalists’ work will premier in a free exhibition at the National Theatre, London, UK, between December 5, 2009 and January 24, 2010, with over 100 stunning images on public view.

UK exhibition industry display services provider Melville Graphics has underlined its green credentials by using the services of ALD Industry for disposal of its PVC banner material – both reinforced and unreinforced.
Nathan Rowe – production manager at Melville Graphics Coventry – says it is a great time to take advantage of the ALD Industry service. ‘The photo is of the guys feeding through the United Business Media (UBM) banners we did for IFSEC 2009. ‘This was the first official show where we were specifically asked to graphics recycled as UBM is keen for their contractors to obtain the BS 8901 standard for sustainability in the exhibition and events industry.’ BS 8901 is the British Standard that has been developed specifically for the events industry.

Graphic Printing Technologies (GPT) has worked with Amari Digital Supplies to deliver a 2.2x4m Apollo 2216WW flatbed printer to graphic display producer Key2 Group. The GBP90,000 investment marks one of the firms’ first joint implementations - the two announced their partnership earlier this year - with GPT delivering hardware solutions and Amari providing a comprehensive range of printing consumables.
